Ralph Parrott of Empowering Veterans Joins VMFP Board of Directors

Cpt. Ralph Parrott, (USN Ret.), founder of Empowering Veterans, a national membership organization advocating on behalf of veterans since 2006, has joined the non-partisan not-for-profit 501(c)(4) advocacy organization Veterans and Military Families for Progress in a leadership role.  As he has folded up Empowering Veterans, he encourages his organization’s members to join VMFP too.

“Matt Cary, President of VMFP, and I have worked closely over the last three years to lobby for the support that our veterans and military families deserve and, in too many cases, are not receiving,” Parrott said recently.  “During this association it has become apparent to me that we could be more effective under the banner of VMFP and I encourage those in the military, veterans, and their families across America to consider joining this very important organization that does what it can, every day, to fulfill the sacred vow our country has made to its veterans.”

Cary, a Vietnam-era veteran who has lead VMFP since 2005, has great respect for Parrott and upon VMFP’s approval by the board of directors, appointed Parrott to serve on VMFP’s board.

“We have worked shoulder-to-shoulder on a wide range of issues since 2006 and I am very proud to call Ralph a fellow director of VMFP now.  I know Ralph will bring tremendous insight, energy, and experience to the Government Affairs Committee, on which he has agreed to serve, and I know his contribution to the entire organization will be tremendous, given what he has already done to improve the lives of veterans, those who serve, and their families.”

VMFP welcomes Empowering Veterans members and others who have served, are serving, or are family members of those who have worn the uniform to become members and help fulfill VMFP’s mission of ensuring that the rights and needs of veterans, active-duty service members and their families are:
    - understood by the American public,
    - endorsed by our elected officials, and
    - protected by legislation, regulation, and public policy initiatives.

Veterans and Military Families for Progress is a 501(c)(4) non-partisan, not-for-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. It is a 21st Century organization made up of members from across the country, and from across the breadth of rank and military services, who served, are serving, or are members of families of those who have heeded the call to serve their country in the U.S. military.
